Lesson

Things you should ask a kid if they ask to play with or eat something:

1) Did you ask your mom?
2) Is your sister (brother) already playing with (eating) it?

Trust me, I've learned the hard way this week.

There Are No Words

... to describe how freakin' funny this picture is to me. I mean, seriously, I can't even look at it without laughing hysterically. I won't tell you which one of the Hilton girls this is. Because then I'd have to kill you. But she clearly was rockin' the Wonder Woman underroos. (Do they even make Underroos anymore??) And the wallpaper just makes the picture even more classic.

Is It Friday Already?

I'm having somewhat of a bad morning. Friday is my weigh-myself day. I only lost 1 pound last week! Really??? 1 measly pound? I was so good last week! Even with the holiday! I stayed well within my points range. (Note: Those of you that have done ww know what I'm talking about.) I worked out pretty hard every other day. I ate all of my fruits and veggies. Maybe I didn't eat enough points. Or, more than likely, maybe it was the 3 beers I had last night when I got home from work. (In my defense, they were Mich Ultras, which are only 2 points each and kind of like drinking water anyways...)

Ok, snap out of it, Hilton. 7 pounds in 2 weeks is excellent. Plus now next week will be an even better week, right? All I want to do is go to McDonalds and get a huge iced coffee and a sausage mcmuffin. I'm not, though. I'm eating my Kashi cereal that tastes like ass. Well, probably more like tree branches. With a banana cut up on top to make it taste like banana-flavored tree branches. And drinking my hot water with lemon. Because I think Shannon's right and that it does give you a good toxic-free start to your day. And then I'm going to go do my running/walking thing because way too many people know about my 5k in September goal.

But I'm still not happy about the pound.

Weekend Recap

Hope everyone had a great July 4th weekend! I was off on Saturday and Sunday, so I headed to the lake to see the parentals and Amanda. And, of course, my nephew Wynne. We had a great time - boating, cooking out, catching up on some reading.

Wynne loves the boat. I took this picture right before his ball accidently went overboard. He was one sad little doggy for a few minutes. Then a water bottle distracted him and he forgot all about it.

The lake was really crowded on Saturday, which is to be expected. What wasn't expected was Snooki from "The Jersey Shore" making an appearance. Okay...that's really my sister. But isn't her sequined bikini just Snooki-licious?

My mom at the cookout Saturday night. I was just too lazy to get up and take a proper picture. But that big pole doesn't distract too much, does it?

Dancing Queens

The weekend before Father's Day I went to North Carolina to visit my BFF and her family. Her oldest girls (Emma and Lily) had their first dance recital and they invited me to come see them. It was quite the crazy weekend. As soon as I arrived on Friday, Lori and I took off for Scrap Mania at her local Archiver's. The next morning, Lori ran a 5k and I took Lily for some special "Auntie Time" (Note: "Auntie Time" = shopping). Afterwards, we had to rush to get ready for Emma's dance recital. We had to pile the makeup on the girls so that they could be seen from the audience. Lori told me, "Make sure you bring your makeup because we need to make the girls look trashy". Really? So I was the designated makeup artist. Sunday? Church, Lunch, Emma's "Auntie Time", then Lily's recital. The girls take dance at a pretty large studio. At least it was large enough for them to do 5 separate productions of Snow White. Yes, that's right, 5. And, wouldn't you know it, Emma and Lily were on different days. And they only gave 4 tickets per kid per show, which stinks for my BFF's family b/c there are 4 kids, lots of grandparents and a couple of Aunties. I was lucky enough to go both nights. I know I'm biased, but Lily and Emma were really, really good. Lily saw us in the crowd and waved. It was enough to bring a tear to your eye! Admittedly, I was a little bored the first night.... It was a looooong program! But I got over that the second that Emma came out afterwards and ran straight to me. I'm sure it's only b/c 1) her mom wasn't there and 2) her dad was the one that came to their 'holding cell' to get her, but still....I felt pretty darn special and was soooo glad that I made the trip.

Emma was a hip hop dancer. Doesn't she look oh-so-thug here?

Lily was a feather duster. How cute is this outfit? That's Julia in the background. She was my make up assistant.
